Advantages of Using Composite Fabrics in the Aerospace Industry
Excellent Strength-to-Weight Ratio
These fabrics can be used to replace heavier materials without sacrificing structural integrity. As a result, aircraft can be lighter (by up to 20–50%) and, consequently, faster and more fuel-efficient.
Impact Resistant, Thermally Stable, and Resistant to Corrosion
JPS' fabrics are highly impact-resistant, thermally stable, and resistant to corrosion and fatigue. These properties make them suitable for the most demanding of environments, from the battlefield to deep space.
Multi-Faceted Finishing Options
JPS' fabrics are engineered with finishing capabilities, tailored specifically to the needs of your proprietary resin systems. From industry standard finishes to custom and high-temperature, JPS has the solution.
Quality Assurance and Certification
As an AS9100:D and ISO 9001:2015 certified supplier with decades of experience providing the highest quality aerospace materials, JPS has what it takes to provide materials for a variety of aerospace applications. We produce a full range of aerospace composite materials, including E-glass, S-glass, Astroquartz®, para-aramid, and other variations. Our fabrics can meet AMS, MIL, and BMS standards and can be certified to AMS 3092, AMS 9084, MIL-Y-1140, BMS9-3, and BMS 8-381 prepreg standards (Kevlar® and Twaron® variations), and several more.
